The influence of soil on soybean yield:

Soy does not give a high yield on acidic and saline soil. The optimal pH level for growing this crop is 6.5–7. Ideal conditions for soybeans are neutral or slightly acidic soil, especially loam. Soy grows well on clay and peat soils with good water permeability.
