Potatoes, of course, play a leading role in the agriculture of our country, but unfortunately, the weather does not always create favorable conditions for growing a good crop, and each region of the country has its own climatic features. Plus, the composition and structure of soils do not always meet the requirements of potatoes. This can be corrected with the help of fertilizers for potatoes, applied in accordance with the terms and dosages. One of such effective fertilizers is potassium humate. Potassium humate, saturated with useful microelements, has long been a common sight on store shelves, and it is used not only by farmers, but also by amateur gardeners for the cultivation of agricultural crops. What explains the popularity of fertilizer? Firstly, efficiency, secondly - huge benefits, and finally - affordable prices.
But it is one thing to use potassium humate, and another thing is to know its main properties and characteristics and skillfully use it in the cultivation of agricultural crops.
How does potassium humate affect potatoes?
The benefits of humate
If you want to get an excellent harvest of potatoes, it is necessary to treat the planting material with potassium humate, it is especially important to treat potato tubers in those farms where every year they choose replacement potatoes from their own harvest for planting.
Why? Potato seeds have a tendency to "degenerate": they lose many valuable qualities of the variety, sharply reduce yield, immunity, and in addition, the risks of damage by viral and fungal diseases increase. Even before planting, such seeds are weakened, therefore processing potato tubers before planting is mandatory, if of course you want to have a good harvest.
For the pre-planting treatment of 1 ton of potatoes, 40-50 liters of working solution are needed. A working solution with a concentration of 0.005-0.008% is prepared from 10 liters of water and 10 grams of 8% concentrate.
With complex processing of planting tubers and plants during the growing season with a solution of potassium humate, the yield of the crop increases by 40%. It is necessary to know that it is impossible to process potatoes more than twice during the growing season, potatoes can "go to the top".
Instructions for use
| Pre-planting treatment of tubers | 2-fold processing of potatoes during the growing season |
| When and how much? | |
| Soak for 10-15 hours |
|
| As? | |
| Working solution: 40 g of potassium humate per 10 l of water | 500 gr. Dissolve humate in 100 l / 100 l per 1 ton of tubers. |
What is the result?
Increases:
- potato yield by 40%, while the ripening period is shortened by almost 2 weeks;
- by 8-10% the number of marketable tubers;
- starch content by 10-15%;
- there is more vitamin C by 5-6 mg/%.
Decreases:
- by 2-30% the level of nitrates;
- 3.3-12.5 times susceptibility to macrosporiasis;
- 3-6.6 times the incidence of late blight;
- 2.7-3.6 times the incidence of desiccation;
- by 60-70% wet rot;
- and by 40-50% scabies.
Humate is useful not only for agricultural crops, but also for soils
Potassium humate activates the growth and development of soil microflora, thanks to which the soil quickly restores its nutrient layer - humus.
